Huckabee Taps ‘True Believers’ in Iowa
Bob Vander Plaats, the Iowa state chairman for Huckabee, casts the turnout battle as one between GOP rival Mitt Romney’s "well-choreographed, paid staff" and the former Arkansas governor’s "ragtag volunteers who are true believers in the cause."
One doesn’t have to guess what the Huckabee headline including "True Believers" concerns….too clever by 1/2.
The Huckabee campaign doesn’t tap non-"True Believers" or "True" non-"Believers? I don’t know….but there’s True Believers all over the political map and many aren’t interested in Huckabee as President. It is amusing that ABC seems to follow the "not Christian enough" mantra allowing themselves to be led around by the nose. By an evangelical minister (sort of) who is running as a Republican. Who’d have thunk?
Newspaper Logic by Nathaniel and Hans Bluedorn comes to mind as a better read. Consideration of motives behind tunnel vision coverage would be worthwhile.
[update] Gary Davis pointed this article out on Homeschool Buzz: Homeschoolers All Look the Same to Me
The above article makes the point again, as Gary notes:
Great commentary summing up the media myth about homeschoolers supporting Huckabee (or any candidate)…
