Our group had a Share Fair last night. There were long tables displaying the work of the kids; including artwork, stories, foreign language studies, science projects, knitting, sewing….. All the ventures were obviously well thought of and well thought out; with impressive results.
There were also performances; including readings of written treasures and memorized poems, ballroom dancing via the Swing, piano, flute, violin, cello with a finale of a recorder trio by a dad, daughter and friend. Several little ones brought their moms along as a necessity for a lean on a familiar knee. The room was full of parents, grandparents, friends along with lots of love and appreciation of all of our stars. This event always makes me teary eyed in full acknowledgment of our love of the homeschooling life.
Now it’s time to quit fooling around and get ready for our farm tour for homeschoolers tomorrow afternoon. A literal Field Trip. No driving anywhere for us, except the lawnmower today. It’ll be a treat for me to watch my dad be our guide. Every day is a share fair.
