Champions of “Job Creation”
Posted by Susan under Parental Watch Issues , Mental Health Screening , Universal PreschoolAs proclaimed by the guy that kinda looks like Santa Claus in this picture. He’s not.
He’s one of the founders of programs that can make a whole pre-school class of 3 year olds "at risk" before they’ve even reached compulsory attendance age. The ladies represent some more of the same.

And Illinois has a "key state" profile on the national lobbying effort for job creation:
Since 1998, Illinois’s pre-kindergarten program for at-risk children has been funded through the Early Childhood Block Grant, of which 11 percent is set aside for children age birth to three. To improve the access to and quality of this program, the Early Learning Illinois (ELI) advocacy and policy campaign was launched in 2002. ELI comprises several member organizations including: Voices for Illinois Children, Ounce of Prevention Fund, and Action for Children. ELI works in partnership with other organizations such as Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Illinois and Chicago Metropolis 2020 to ensure that all children are healthy, eager to learn, and ready to succeed by the time they enter kindergarten.
Kindergarten isn’t mandated in Illinois. How many know that piece of trivia in Illinois? Suppose the same misconceptions will be happening with pre-school for 3 and 4 year olds in 5 years. Sad.
Birth to three is in the works. Could just be a matter of cribs in the classroom. With a little mental health screening thrown in there to help keep our representatives well fed next to the Capitol (s).
